As part of Yoko Ono's Meltdown, our neighbours at The BFI have put together an excellent programme with a selection of Yoko's favourite films. Watch an exclusive screening of Battleship Potemkin with an introduction by the Pet Shop Boys, plus Grave of The Fireflies, Food Inc., Bowling for Columbine, plus rarely seen films by John and Yoko

Due to incredible public demand, we've added an extra Siouxsie show, while electro-rock goddess Peaches performs a selection of songs from her back catalogue. You can also see Peaches in Yoko Ono's famous performance piece Cut Piece.
The lush looping harmonies of Julianna Barwick grace the festival programme to mark the launch of her new record, and London-based Japanese punk band Bo Ningen perform a free live show following Iggy & The Stooges sold out Royal Festival Hall date.
Omnipresent guitarist Earl Slick who has played with the likes of David Bowie and New York Dolls talks about his new book, Diary of a Sideman. Slick also featured on John and Yoko's last album Double Fantasy, which will be performed live on Sunday 23 June.
There will also be two weekends of talks and debates. Activism Weekend (15 & 16 June) features the Guerilla Girls, the launch of new book ‘Let's Start a Pussy Riot' and more. The Future Weekend (22 & 23 June) opens with Yoko Ono in conversation with Serpentine Gallery curator Hans-Ulrich Obrist.
Meltdown is supported by Côtes du Rhône Wines

Calling all young people aged 14 to 25! Yoko Ono's Meltdown festival at Southbank Centre is offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take part in a one-day workshop inside The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus. This is a new mobile recording studio stationed at Southbank Centre throughout the festival, which runs from 14-23 June 2013. There are two amazing workshop opportunities: - to compose, record and produce a new music video, or,- to create a festival video log. Whether you're a budding young musician or have never been near an instrument in your life, or perhaps you have an interest in video production or digital journalism, we want to hear from you. To apply simply send us a short paragraph of no more than 150 words or a link to a 30 second (or less) YouTube or Vimeo clip, describing why you, your class, group or organisation would benefit from this opportunity and what it would mean to you to be involved. All levels of experience and abilities are welcome. The music team at Southbank Centre with the help of Yoko Ono will then handpick the lucky individuals, classes and groups (maximum of 12 participants per group), and invite you for a day between the 15 and 22 June 2013. Please indicate in your email if there are any days during that time period that you won't be available. Entries must be sent to meltdownbus@southbankcentre.co.uk by no later than Monday 27 May. We will inform the lucky applicants by Monday 3 June. Please include your age, a contact phone number and any access requirements you may have. Good Luck!Southbank Centre Square Doors
