Joan As Police Woman + Julia Kent + Matteah Baim

Maine-born Joan Wasser (aka Joan As Police Woman) has spent over 20 years performing and recording alongside acts such as Lou Reed, Elton John, Sparklehorse, musical director and Meltdown co-performer Hal Willner's projects, and Damon Albarn's Africa Express.

She has also released three records as Joan As Police Woman - Real Life in 2006, To Survive in 2008, and The Deep Field in 2011 each of which have featured special guest appearances from Rufus Wainwright, David Sylvain (Japan) and 2012's Meltdown director Antony

Joining her on the bill is Matteah Baim. Born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Having moved to New York City via college in San Francisco, Baim went on to record her first solo record, Death of the Sun, in 2007 for Dicristina/ Revolver USA. Laughing Boy, her second album, followed soon after in 2009. She supported Antony and the Johnson's on the US tour of The Crying Light and their Another World Installation-Performance at MoMA's historic Clock Tower Gallery in New York.

Opening the evening is Canadian-born, New York City-based Julia Kent, who uses multitracked cello, found sounds, and electronics to create music that is cinematic, powerful and impressionistic.
